PC gamers might not have to wait too long to play Grand Theft Auto 6. According to a new report, Rockstar Games is targeting the first quarter of 2027 for the PC version, which means the game could arrive just a few months after its console launch.
GamesBeat published the report on October 13, 2026, citing four industry sources familiar with Rockstar’s plans. However, Rockstar has not officially confirmed the PC release window, so January to March 2027 should not be treated as a guaranteed launch date.
When Could GTA 6 Release on PC?
According to GamesBeat, Rockstar is aiming to release GTA 6 on PC between January and March 2027. The report does not provide an exact launch date, and the company has not announced when PC players can expect to jump into the game.
If this timeline holds, PC gamers could get their hands on GTA 6 only a few months after its console debut. That’s potentially good news for players who were expecting to wait a year or longer.
Rockstar did not respond to GamesBeat’s request for comment before publication. Until the studio shares an official announcement, the reported release window remains unconfirmed.
GTA 6 Console Release Date Remains November 2026
Rockstar Games has officially scheduled GTA 6 to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The upcoming game follows Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos as they become involved in a criminal conspiracy across Leonida, a fictional state inspired by Florida. Players will also return to Vice City, Rockstar’s modern take on the iconic GTA location.
The November release date applies to the announced console versions. Rockstar has not confirmed a PC launch date, and players should not assume the computer version will arrive alongside the PS5 and Xbox editions.

Could GTA 6 Launch on PC Faster Than GTA 5?
Rockstar has a history of releasing its major games on PC after their console debuts. However, the wait has varied between titles.
Grand Theft Auto V launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013, while its PC version arrived in April 2015. That’s a gap of roughly 19 months.
Red Dead Redemption 2 followed a similar path, reaching consoles in October 2018 before launching on PC in November 2019.
If the latest report proves accurate, GTA 6 could have a much shorter console-to-PC gap. PC players might be exploring Vice City in early 2027 rather than waiting until late 2027 or 2028.
Still, Rockstar has not confirmed that it will follow this schedule.
What About GTA 6 PC System Requirements?
Rockstar has not announced the official PC system requirements for GTA 6. Players therefore don’t yet have a confirmed list of the processors, graphics cards, or memory needed to run the game.
The PC version will also need to account for different hardware configurations. Rockstar may need additional time to optimize performance across a wide range of systems, although the developer has not explained its PC development timeline.
Steam availability is another unanswered question. Until Rockstar confirms the PC release, players should be cautious about treating unofficial dates or system requirements as fact.

Will GTA 6 Online Release on PC in 2027?
The timing of GTA 6’s online mode is another detail worth watching. GamesBeat’s report discusses comments from Twitch CEO Dan Clancy suggesting that GTA VI Online is expected in 2027.
However, Rockstar has not confirmed an official release date for the online mode. The reported timing also does not establish whether the PC version and online features will launch together.
For now, players should wait for Rockstar to clarify its plans rather than rely on unofficial timelines.
Final Thoughts
GTA 6 could arrive on PC between January and March 2027, according to GamesBeat’s latest report. If Rockstar meets that target, computer players may enjoy a much shorter wait than they experienced with GTA 5.
For now, November 19, 2026, remains the confirmed console release date, while the PC version’s timing is still unannounced.
