The PC requirements for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced scale across four presets, from minimum 1080p 30 FPS with a GTX 1660 to 4K 60 FPS requiring an RTX 4090. All versions need 16GB RAM, 65GB SSD storage, and Windows 10 or 11, with support for DLSS, FSR, and ray tracing.
Ubisoft has officially revealed Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, and it is finally happening on July 9, 2026. The game is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. If you were hoping to play Edward Kenway’s pirate story on your desktop or laptop, you will want to check the PC requirements before you get too excited.
This is not a simple remaster. Ubisoft rebuilt the game from the ground up using the Anvil engine, the same one that ran Assassin’s Creed Shadows. That means proper ray-traced lighting, modernized water physics, and higher-detail environments. The trade-off? Your PC needs to be able to handle it.
Four Presets, Four Very Different PCs
Ubisoft set up four graphics presets: Minimum, Recommended, High, and Extreme. All presets target different resolutions and frame rates, and each one needs meaningfully different hardware.
One thing stays the same across all presets: you need at least 16GB of RAM in a dual-channel setup, 65GB of SSD storage, and Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit). The SSD is not optional.
Minimum Requirements (1080p at 30 FPS)
This is the baseline, and it is honestly not that demanding for a 2026 game.
You need an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 on the CPU side. For the GPU, Ubisoft listed the NVIDIA GTX 1660 (6GB), AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT (8GB), or Intel Arc A580 with ReBAR enabled (8GB).
If you are running a GTX 1660 or something close to it, you can probably get into the game. Just do not expect 60 FPS or anything beyond the lowest graphics settings. Ray tracing runs in “Standard” mode here, and upscaling is set to Balanced.
Recommended (1080p at 60 FPS)
This is the sweet spot for most players. Ubisoft recommends an Intel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, paired with an NVIDIA RTX 3060 (12GB), AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT (8GB), or Intel Arc B580 (12GB).
The RTX 3060 is still one of the most popular GPUs out there right now, so this should be within reach for a lot of PC gamers. You get 1080p at 60 FPS with medium-level ray tracing and upscaling on the balanced setting.
High Requirements (1440p at 60 FPS)
Stepping up to 1440p at 60 FPS, Ubisoft recommends a Core i5-11600K or Ryzen 5 5600X. The GPU tier moves up to an RTX 3080 (10GB) or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT (16GB).
If you bought a mid-to-high-end PC in 2021 or 2022, this is probably where you land. The 5600X is still a capable chip, and the 3080 holds up well at 1440p.
Extreme Requirements (4K at 60 FPS)
This is where things get expensive. To run the game at 4K and 60 FPS with extended ray tracing and the full Extreme preset, Ubisoft says you need a Ryzen 7 5700X3D or Intel Core i7-12700K, paired with an RTX 4090 or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX.
That is a very beefy setup, but it is slightly less demanding than what Assassin’s Creed Shadows required for its equivalent RT Extreme preset, which asked for a newer-generation CPU. So there is at least that.

Ray Tracing Without a Ray Tracing GPU
One interesting detail Ubisoft mentioned: the game supports software-based ray tracing. That means players with older GPUs that do not support hardware-accelerated ray tracing can still get the advanced lighting effects, just at a lower performance cost.
That is a smart move, especially at the minimum spec level where the GTX 1660 does not natively support hardware RT.
Upscaling and Extra Features
On the tech side, Black Flag Resynced supports DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XeSS 3. Frame rates are uncapped in both gameplay and cutscenes. HDR and ultra-wide resolutions are supported too.
There are also dedicated presets for handheld gaming devices like the Steam Deck, and a built-in benchmark tool so you can test your own setup before diving in.
One thing worth knowing: you need an internet connection the first time you install the game. After that, the whole thing runs offline.
Should You Be Worried?
Not really, unless you are on very old hardware. The requirements are reasonable for a game built on a modern engine. If you have a mid-range GPU from around 2020 or later, you should be able to run it at 1080p without much trouble.
The prices of RAM and SSDs have gone up in recent months due to supply issues, so if your setup is short on storage or running a single-channel RAM configuration, that might be the thing to fix before July.

What Is Actually New in the Game?
For those who want a quick recap, Resynced adds parry-driven combat, updated stealth mechanics (including crouching anywhere and a new Observe mode), new Officer characters with their own missions, reworked naval combat, 10 new sea shanties, and ship customization options including, yes, a cat or monkey companion for the Jackdaw.
Matt Ryan, Edward’s original voice actor, is back and recorded new lines for this version. The Caribbean looks much better than the 2013 original, too, thanks to the new water simulation and lighting system.
Pre-orders are open now on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Ubisoft Store. The standard edition is priced at $60. The original Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is staying available for purchase separately, which is good news for anyone who wants to compare the two.
If you want to check whether your PC meets the specs, head over to the official Ubisoft page or run a quick check on your system before July 9.
