AC Black Flag Resynced Treasure Map Locations Guide

Buried treasure is basically the whole point of being a pirate, and Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced does not disappoint. Dig up the right chest and you walk away with thousands of reales, rare cosmetics, or one of those ultimate upgrade plans that turn the Jackdaw into an actual monster on the water.

The catch is that treasure maps and buried chests almost never sit in the same spot. Find a map on one island, and the chest it points to could be halfway across the Caribbean. Here’s every location tracked down so far, including map coordinates, chest coordinates, and what you actually get for digging.

How treasure maps work in Black Flag Resynced

Treasure maps count as secrets. If you sail into an area that still has undiscovered secrets, there’s a good chance a map is hiding there, usually on a skeleton tucked into some corner of the map. Unlock a viewpoint nearby and the treasure map icon pops up on your map screen.

You can check your current stash of maps under the “treasure maps” tab in your inventory bag. Study the coordinates and the little sketch before you go digging. Some maps also point to islands you have not even visited yet, so be ready to do some sailing.

Climb about halfway up the big Mayan temple on Misteriosa’s south side for the map. The chest is on a beach in southeast Kingston, behind a broken dinghy.

More treasures are still turning up

The guide above covers the maps confirmed so far, but Black Flag Resynced reportedly has somewhere between 22 and 30 treasure locations total, so there’s more out there. Players have already found chests around Anotto Bay’s smuggler’s den, inside underwater cave systems near Ambergris Key and San Juan, and behind the Mayan temple fountain on Misteriosa.

Most of these involve diving through submerged tunnels, so keep an eye out for wreckage or diving bells poking out of the water near coastal towns. There’s also at least one legendary charm tied to underwater chests near an unmarked island northeast of Havana, which stays in your inventory permanently instead of getting used up like a normal map.

Treasure hunting rewards patience more than anything else. If a chest location does not click right away, recheck the sketch on the map itself since the drawings usually show a landmark you can spot from a distance.

Got a favorite treasure haul so far, or found a chest that gave you trouble? Drop it in the comments and let other pirates know what to watch out for.
