Forza Horizon 6’s full Japan map has officially been revealed by Playground Games, showcasing Tokyo city streets, the C1 loop, Gingko Avenue, Mt. Haruna, Bandai Azuma, beaches, rural fields, and snowy mountain passes. The game launches on May 19, 2026, with over 550 cars available at launch and Early Access starting May 15 for Premium Edition owners.
Racing game fans, your wait is over. Playground Games has officially pulled back the curtain on the full world map for Forza Horizon 6, and it is set entirely in Japan. From the buzzing streets of Tokyo to the snow-capped peaks of the Japanese Alps, this might just be the most exciting Forza map ever made.
Welcome to Horizon Japan
The developers are calling it their “most dense and vertical map yet,” and one look at it tells you why. The Japan map is not just big, it is layered. You get towering mountain terrain on one end and a sprawling, traffic-filled city grid on the other, all packed into one open world that you can explore with friends.

This is a massive step up from previous Forza Horizon entries, both in terms of scale and visual variety.
Famous Roads You Will Actually Recognize
One of the biggest highlights of this map reveal is the inclusion of real-world iconic locations. Forza Horizon 6’s Japan features routes inspired by the C1 loop and Gingko Avenue in Tokyo, two spots that any car enthusiast or anime fan will immediately recognize.
Head further out from the city and you will find legendary mountain passes like Mt. Haruna and Bandai Azuma. These are the kinds of winding, narrow roads that have been immortalized in car culture for decades, and now you can drive them yourself.
Fans are already zooming into the high-resolution map image shared by the developers. So far, eagle-eyed players have spotted a road along Mount Akina and Nikko Circuit tucked into the map.
A World of Contrasts
What makes Japan such a perfect setting for Forza Horizon is the variety it offers. Rural rice fields sit beside neon-lit city blocks. Traditional shrines share the landscape with modern highway overpasses.
The map includes diverse biomes and full seasonality, meaning the world will look and feel different depending on the time of year in-game. Whether you are drifting through cherry blossom streets in spring or blasting through a snowy mountain pass in winter, the scenery never gets old.
Beaches line the southern coast of the map, while the north gets progressively more mountainous with off-road tracks winding through the terrain. There is clearly something here for every kind of driver, from street racers to off-road enthusiasts.
Gameplay Footage Is Here Too
Along with the full map image, Playground Games also released the first six minutes of gameplay footage from the game’s prologue. Outlets that received early hands-on access have started publishing their previews as well.
The gameplay footage gives a real sense of how the world feels in motion. Tokyo City is reportedly five times larger than any urban area in previous Forza Horizon games, which is a staggering number.
Over 550 Cars and a Free Ferrari for Pre-Orders
If the map was not enough to get you excited, here is something else to look forward to. Forza Horizon 6 will feature over 550 real-world cars at launch, including classics, with updated engine audio and improved steering animations supporting up to 540 degrees of wheel rotation.
And if you pre-order any edition of the game before launch, you will get a pre-tuned, exclusive Ferrari J50 unlocked at release. That is a strong incentive to lock in your order early.
When Can You Play It?
Forza Horizon 6 launches on Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam on May 19, 2026. If you pick up the Premium Edition or Premium Upgrade, you get Early Access starting four days earlier on May 15.
The game is also included with Game Pass, and a PlayStation 5 version is coming later in 2026.
