Fortnite servers are back online after extended downtime for the v41.00 update, and Chapter 7 Season 3: Runners is officially live.
The downtime followed the Shattered live event on June 5 and lasted several hours before Epic flipped the switch back on earlier today.
What’s New in Fortnite v41.00
The Zero Point has cracked the sky open and rebuilt the island into a brand new mid-chapter map called the Shattered Coast. The update brings a fresh pool of firearms, new POIs, and a completely different win condition centered around extracting Sprites.
Sprites are the headline mechanic this season. You find one in a match, take it to an Extraction Site, survive the timer while defending your position, and it gets permanently added to your collection. They carry over to future matches. Each Sprite comes with a different rarity tier and grants unique powers. One example lets you refill your shields by emoting.
New Weapons

Four weapons drop with v41.00. The Extending Focus Shotgun fires a 3-round volley as the barrel tightens its spread at long range. The Surgical Burst Rifle is a low-recoil burst with minimal damage falloff. The Chaos Exploder Rifle fires explosive cubes that punish players hiding behind cover. The Lancehead Pistol is John Wick’s sidearm with a 21-round mag that lets you throw your magazine at enemies on reload.
Returning to the loot pool this season: the Striker Pump, Maven Auto Shotgun, Ranger Pistol, Stinger SMG, Hunting Rifle, and Chaos Reloader Shotgun.
New Map
The new Shattered Coast map features twisted versions of familiar POIs. You will find the crystalline shallows of Sunken Shores and fight up toward the center where the Zero Point’s pull is strongest.
Battle Pass
The Chapter 7 Season 3 Battle Pass includes Dr. Slone making her return as one of the bigger lore moments this season, alongside John Wick in a new cel-shaded Pen and Ink version.
Reload Changes
Fortnite Reload is also getting updated with a refreshed loot pool featuring new Morphite weapons, stronger starting loadouts after reboots, and new glider features borrowed from the main BR mode. Players can now also aim down sights during the Battle Bus phase to scout drop spots.
Server Status Right Now
Fortnite Status confirmed servers are back up and the new season is playable now. If you are still seeing queue errors or login issues, restart the launcher and try again.
