If you tried to boot up your Xbox today and got hit with a wall of errors, you’re not losing your mind. Xbox is down, again, and this time it’s messing with sign-ins, game libraries, and the ability to actually launch anything.
Xbox Support confirmed the outage directly, posting that some users are running into errors when they try to sign in, pull up their library, or start a game. The team said engineers are actively working on a fix, though no timeline has been shared yet.
What’s actually broken right now
According to Xbox’s official status page, three areas are currently flagged as having issues: Account & Profile, Store & Subscriptions, and Apps & Mobile. So if your console is throwing a fit while trying to check your account or load the store, that tracks.
Not everyone is getting hit the same way either. Some players say everything looks fine on their end. Others are stuck staring at error screens. Outages like this rarely take everyone down at once, so don’t panic if your buddy is online and you’re not, or the other way around.

This isn’t even the first outage this month
Here’s the part that stings a bit more. Just last week, Xbox servers went down and blocked players from getting into Halo: Campaign Evolved on the exact day it launched in Early Access. Rough timing for a game people had been waiting on.
Two server issues inside of a week is going to raise some eyebrows, especially for anyone who was already annoyed after the Halo hiccup.
How to check if it’s you or Xbox
Before you start unplugging routers, it’s worth confirming whether the problem is actually on Xbox’s end. A couple of quick ways to check:
- Head to the official Xbox status page and look for red flags next to any service.
- Check the Xbox Support account on X (formerly Twitter) for real-time updates.
- Look at Down Detector to see if reports are spiking around your area.
If those all point to a wider outage, there’s not much you can do except wait it out. Restarting your console or router won’t fix something broken on Microsoft’s servers.
What to do while you wait
Not much, honestly. These sign-in and account outages usually get resolved within a few hours, based on how past incidents have played out. If it’s dragging on longer than that, Xbox Support is generally pretty active about posting updates as they come in.
Keep an eye on their account for the latest, and maybe hold off on downloading anything big until things are stable again.
