That timing actually lines up with something already reported. Laufey was confirmed to ship on physical disc, and Sony has already said it’s shutting down physical disc production for its games starting January 2028. A February 2027 launch fits that window perfectly.

Turns out she’s not just the quiet, grieving memory the 2018 game made her out to be. She’s actively fighting her way through the underworld, taking on dead gods pulled from other mythologies outside the Norse pantheon.
Combat-wise, the game keeps the familiar over-the-shoulder camera style fans know from the modern God Of War games, but Laufey’s playstyle is being built to feel faster and more agile than Kratos ever was.
There’s Already Another God Of War Game Confirmed
Here’s the part that really caught people off guard. Sony Santa Monica confirmed during the same panel that another God Of War title is already in the pipeline after Laufey, and this one puts Kratos back in the driver’s seat.
