Fortnite players are still locked out, and Epic just confirmed it is going to take a little longer than expected.
The official Fortnite Status account on X posted an update about an hour ago, saying “The Sprites are still powering up” and that downtime has been extended while the team gets everything ready for the new Runners season. No hard end time was given, just a vague “Servers will be live soon.”
This comes after the servers went down at 7:30 PM ET on June 5, right after the Shattered live event wrapped up. The initial estimate was around five and a half hours, which would have put the return somewhere around 1 AM ET. That window has now passed.
Chapter 7 Season 3 is one of the bigger updates Fortnite has had in a while. A new map, new weapons, and a fresh Battle Pass are all part of the package, so it is not a shock that Epic needs extra time to push everything live without things breaking.
If you are waiting to drop in, the only real move right now is to keep an eye on the Fortnite Status account on X for the go-live call. No ETA has been confirmed yet.
We will update this article the moment servers are back online.
