Sony is raising PlayStation Plus prices starting May 20, and if you’re a new subscriber, you’ll feel it right away.
The official PlayStation account confirmed the change on X, pointing to “ongoing market conditions” as the reason. The increases apply to new customers in select regions, and existing subscribers are mostly safe — for now.
New PS Plus Prices Starting May 20
Here’s what new subscribers will pay going forward:
- 1-Month Plan: $10.99 USD / €9.99 EUR / £7.99 GBP
- 3-Month Plan: $27.99 USD / €27.99 EUR / £21.99 GBP

What About Current Subscribers?
Sony was quick to clarify that current subscribers won’t see any changes unless their subscription lapses or they switch plans. One exception worth noting: users in Turkey and India don’t get that protection, so the new pricing applies to them regardless of their current status.
May 2026 Has Been a Good Month for PS Plus
The timing is a little awkward, honestly. May 2026 has actually been a solid month for the service. EA Sports FC 26 headlined the monthly free games, and the Game Catalog got a real boost with Red Dead Redemption 2 and Star Wars Outlaws added to the lineup. Subscribers have been getting genuine value this month.
Whether Sony keeps that up while charging more is the real question — and one they haven’t answered yet. It’s worth keeping an eye on what the next few months of game lineups look like. A price bump is easier to swallow when the games back it up.
