The Fortnite Endgame LTM is a 16v16 Marvel crossover mode where Chitauri players collect all six Infinity Stones to power up Thanos, while Avengers must stop them by eliminating enemies and disabling respawns. The first player to grab a stone becomes Thanos.
Epic Games keeps finding ways to pull players back into Fortnite, and this time, they have gone all out. The Endgame Limited Time Mode has officially returned, and it is every bit as wild as fans remember from Chapter 1 Season 8. Infinity Stones are dropping from the sky, Thanos is stomping around the map, and two teams of 16 are going head-to-head in one of the most chaotic crossover modes the game has ever seen.
If you never played it the first time, here is your chance to see what all the hype was about. And if you are a returning player, consider this your refresher course.
What Exactly Is the Fortnite Endgame LTM?
Before jumping into tips, it helps to understand how this mode actually works.
When you load into the Endgame LTM, you are placed on one of two teams of 16 players: the Avengers or the Chitauri. These two sides have completely different objectives, which is what makes the mode feel so fresh compared to regular Fortnite.
The Chitauri are working for Thanos. Their job is to hunt down all six Infinity Stones scattered across the OG Fortnite map and deliver them to the Mad Titan.
The Avengers are there to stop exactly that. They need to eliminate Chitauri soldiers 150 times to shut down enemy respawns, and then finish off whoever is left to secure the win.
It sounds straightforward, but the moment those stones start dropping and Thanos enters the lobby, things get messy very quickly.
How to Find and Collect Every Infinity Stone

If you land on the Chitauri side, your entire focus should be on tracking and securing the Infinity Stones. Missing a stone or letting an Avenger interfere can cost your whole team the match.
Here is the full process, step by step:
Wait for the alert. At the start of the match, the game will send you a notification the moment an Infinity Stone is about to land. Keep an eye on your screen so you do not miss it.
Look up at the sky. When a stone spawns, a massive pillar of light shoots straight into the air from its landing spot. You can see this from almost anywhere on the map, making it one of the easiest markers to follow in any LTM.
Use your HUD and mini-map. A dedicated icon appears on both your compass and mini-map the second a stone is available. Use it to plan your route before anyone else does.
Get there fast. Speed matters. Avengers players will also be rushing toward the same location to defend it or intercept you. Every second counts once the pillar of light appears.
Hold the Interact button to collect. Stand directly over the stone and hold Square or X on a controller, or E on PC. Do not tap it. You need to hold it for the full collection animation to complete.
Protect yourself during the animation. Here is the part most players forget. The collection process takes around 6 seconds, and you cannot move or fight during that time. You are completely open to attacks. Always have a teammate nearby to watch your back while you grab the stone.
Get into the habit of communicating with your team before rushing a stone. A solo grab attempt in the middle of a fight almost never ends well.
How to Play as Thanos in Fortnite Endgame
This is the moment everyone on the Chitauri team is secretly racing toward.
The very first Chitauri player to successfully collect an Infinity Stone gets to take control of Thanos. Not a skin, not a cosmetic, actual Thanos with his full abilities and power set.
Once you are in the role, you become the team’s heavy hitter while your teammates continue collecting the remaining five stones. Thanos grows more powerful with every stone picked up, which makes coordination between the player running as Thanos and the rest of the Chitauri incredibly important.
If you want the best shot at playing as Thanos, make sure you are sprinting toward the very first stone the moment the match begins.
Every Infinity Stone and What It Does
The stones are not just objectives to check off a list. Each one comes with a specific upgrade that makes Thanos increasingly dangerous as the match goes on. On top of that, every stone collected adds 25 health points to every Chitauri soldier on your team.
Here is what each stone unlocks:
Reality Stone (Red): Thanos gets a massive health and shield boost, with his total pool jumping from 1,000 all the way up to 2,000. This one effectively doubles his survivability.
Soul Stone (Orange): Every time Thanos eliminates an Avenger, he gains shields. This turns aggressive play into a self-sustaining loop that keeps him in the fight longer.
Mind Stone (Yellow): Thanos gains the ability to leap much higher into the air, giving him incredible mobility across the map and making him harder to pin down.
Space Stone (Blue): His area of effect attacks triple in size, and the damage output jumps by six times. This one turns Thanos from dangerous to genuinely terrifying in open areas.
Time Stone (Green): Punch damage triples, and every hit sends enemies flying backward with a powerful knockback effect. Close-range fights become almost impossible for the Avengers to win.
Power Stone (Purple): The damage from Thanos’ Power Beam increases by six times. Combined with the other stones, this makes his ranged attacks practically lethal.
Each stone stacks on top of the previous ones, which means a fully powered Thanos holding all six stones is almost unstoppable. Avengers teams need to act before it gets to that point.
What Happens When the Chitauri Collect All Six Stones?

When the sixth and final stone is secured, the message “The Infinity Gauntlet is complete” appears on every player’s screen. At that moment, the Avengers lose their ability to respawn.
From that point on, the Chitauri simply need to eliminate every remaining Avenger to win the match. But here is the twist. The Chitauri are not working with unlimited respawns either. They only get a pool of 50 respawns for the entire team throughout the match.
If that pool runs dry before the Avengers are wiped out, surviving Chitauri members and Thanos have to close out the game with no safety net. It creates incredibly tense final moments where even one elimination can flip the entire outcome.
A Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Drop In
The Endgame LTM runs on the classic OG Fortnite map, which means some of the mechanics introduced in newer seasons are not available. You cannot ride on a teammate’s shoulders, and Llama riding is off the table as well.
Avengers players do get access to a set of Avengers-themed weapons designed specifically for this mode, so do not expect them to be helpless against Thanos and the Chitauri. The fights stay competitive throughout, which is honestly what makes the mode so enjoyable.
Final Thoughts
The Fortnite Endgame LTM is the kind of crossover event that does not come around very often. Whether you are chasing the Infinity Stones as a Chitauri soldier, stepping into the role of Thanos for the first time, or holding the line as an Avenger, there is genuinely something exciting here for every type of player.
Do not let this one pass you by. Log in, pick your side, and give it everything you have got.
