We’re still months away from Grand Theft Auto VI dropping, and Rockstar Games hasn’t said a word about pricing or preorders. But one online retailer may have accidentally spilled the beans – and the number might make your wallet cry a little.
A Retailer Listed GTA VI – And Nobody Asked Them To
A sharp-eyed user on the GTA VI subreddit spotted something interesting: the Xbox Series X/S version of GTA VI has shown up on Loaded (the platform formerly known as CDKeys) for £89.99.
That’s already a hefty price tag, but here’s where things get even more interesting.
The same storefront also listed a PC version of GTA VI for £60.99, claiming it can be activated through the Rockstar Games Launcher.
The catch? Rockstar hasn’t even officially confirmed that GTA VI is coming to PC yet. So either Loaded knows something the rest of us don’t, or they’re getting ahead of themselves – big time.
You Can’t Actually Buy It Yet
Before you rush to check out, pump the brakes. Neither listing is currently available to purchase. Both are marked as “Coming Soon,” but you can set a reminder to get notified once the game goes live on the platform.
Also worth noting: Loaded deals exclusively in digital keys, not physical copies. So if you’re the type who likes having a disc on your shelf, this isn’t going to be your go-to store anyway.
Are These Prices Even Real?
Here’s the thing – almost certainly not. Not yet, at least.
Rockstar Games has made zero official announcements about GTA VI’s price. That means what you’re seeing on Loaded is almost certainly a placeholder, put up to generate interest and get shoppers to enable notifications for when real preorders go live.
It’s a smart (if slightly sneaky) retail move. Get people excited, get them signed up for alerts, and then be ready to convert when the actual price drops.
When Rockstar does finally announce the official price, you’ll start seeing consistent numbers pop up across major platforms like Amazon, GameStop, and others. Until then, take any listing with a serious grain of salt.
So Where Does the £89.99 Number Come From?
Retailers like Loaded don’t just pull numbers out of thin air – they typically base placeholder prices on leaks, rumors, and industry trends.
And the rumors around GTA VI pricing have been… bold. Some reports have suggested Rockstar could price the game at up to £100 at launch, which would make it one of the most expensive standard video game releases ever.
Is that realistic? Hard to say. The gaming industry has been gradually pushing prices upward, with many AAA titles already sitting at £70-£75 in the UK. A £90-£100 price point would be a significant jump – and a controversial one.
That said, Rockstar isn’t exactly a publisher that plays it safe. GTA V made over $1 billion in just three days back in 2013. They know people will pay.
Expect Multiple Editions at Launch
If history is any guide – and with Rockstar, it usually is – GTA VI will almost certainly launch with multiple editions. Think a Standard Edition, a Special Edition, and probably some kind of Ultimate or Collector’s Edition loaded with in-game bonuses, digital content, and maybe some physical goodies for the die-hards.
That’s become the norm for big AAA releases, and there’s no reason to think GTA VI will be any different. So even if the base game lands at £89.99 or higher, expect premium options to push things even further north.

Right now, nothing is confirmed. Loaded’s listings are almost certainly placeholders based on speculation, and Rockstar hasn’t given us a release date for preorders or an official price.
But the fact that retailers are already positioning themselves tells you one thing clearly: GTA VI hype is very real, and it’s only going to build from here.
