If you have a PlayStation Plus subscription, April 2026 is shaping up to be a pretty solid month. A big-name game has already been leaked for the Essential lineup, and there are a few important dates you need to mark on your calendar right now.
Here is everything you need to know.
Leaked PlayStation Plus April Headline Game
Before Sony even made an official announcement, insider billbil-kun from Dealabs spoiled the party in the best way possible. The leaker, who has a near-perfect track record when it comes to PlayStation Plus predictions, revealed that Lords of the Fallen (2023) will be the headline title for PS Plus Essential in April 2026.
Lords of the Fallen is a souls-like dark fantasy action RPG that drew a lot of attention when it launched in 2023 for its stunning visuals and punishing gameplay. If you missed it at launch, this is a great opportunity to play it for free.

The full three-game lineup has not been officially confirmed yet, so there are still two more titles to be announced.
When Will Sony Make It Official?
Sony is expected to announce the complete April lineup on April 1. Yes, that is April Fool’s Day. So when you see the announcement, make sure it is coming directly from the official PlayStation Blog or PlayStation social media channels before you get too excited or too skeptical.
Once the games are announced, they will be available to claim from April 7 until May 5. That gives you about a month to add them to your library, so do not sit on it too long and then forget.
Why the Wait Is a Little Longer This Time
You might notice the gap between the announcement date and the release date feels slightly longer than usual. That is because Sony typically announces games on the last Wednesday of the month and releases them the following Tuesday. Since April’s first Tuesday falls on the 7th this year, the wait stretches out just a little more than normal.
Not the end of the world, but worth knowing if you are planning around it.
Games Leaving PlayStation Plus Extra on April 21
This is the part that stings a little. Several games are being removed from the PS Plus Extra library on April 21, and subscribers are not happy about all of them.
The biggest hit? Dave the Diver, the beloved indie game that mixes restaurant management with deep-sea exploration, is leaving the service. If you have been meaning to play it, now is genuinely your last chance.
EA Sports PGA Tour and Lost Records: Bloom and Rage are also confirmed to be leaving the Extra library on the same date.
If any of these are sitting in your backlog, bump them to the top of your list before April 21.
Do Not Forget: March Games Leave April 6
Before you get too focused on April, remember that the March PS Plus Essential games are leaving on April 6.
This month’s lineup includes Monster Hunter Rise, PGA Tour 2K25, Slime Rancher 2, and The Elder Scrolls Online. That is a strong set of games, especially Monster Hunter Rise and ESO if you have not played them yet.
You still have a few days. Head to the PlayStation Store and add them to your library now, even if you do not plan to play immediately. Once they are in your library, they are yours to keep as long as your subscription is active.
Bottom Line
April 2026 is bringing a solid headliner in Lords of the Fallen, a few important exit dates to watch, and the usual PS Plus rotation that rewards subscribers who stay on top of things.
