Here’s something we never thought we’d say in 2025- Oblivion is back. No, not just a basic resolution boost or one of those quick ports. Bethesda has actually gone and remastered The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion — and the results are kind of mind-blowing.

We’re talking ray-traced lighting, detailed textures, real shadows — the works. And somehow, they’ve managed to keep the original charm intact. You’ll still recognize the clunky architecture of Bravil, but now it actually looks… kind of beautiful?
Combat has also been given a noticeable facelift. It’s faster, smoother, and more responsive. Enemies don’t just stand around waiting for you to hit them anymore — they react, dodge, and actually put up a fight. And yes, you can finally sprint. Took long enough, right?
The user interface, which let’s be honest was rough even in 2006, has been totally reworked. Inventory management is way easier, and navigating menus doesn’t feel like flipping through an old Windows 95 file browser anymore.

Voice Acting That Doesn’t Repeat Every 3 Minutes
Here’s a fun memory: in the original game, every elf, human, and lizard basically had the same voice. You’d walk into a shop and swear the guard, the merchant, and the beggar were triplets.
That’s gone now.
Bethesda actually re-recorded a lot of dialogue and added distinct voice lines for different races and characters. It makes the world feel a lot more alive — and way less repetitive. Plus, they brought back Wes Johnson as Sheogorath. Yes, the Mad God himself still rants like a lunatic, and we love him for it.
Everything’s Included — Expansions and All
This isn’t just a remaster of the base game. Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles are bundled in too. So you’re getting the full Oblivion experience, from slaying undead crusaders to getting lost in the mind of a Daedric Prince.
There’s also a Deluxe Edition with a few fun extras — mostly cosmetic stuff, including the infamous horse armor. Remember when that was a meme? Well, now it actually looks good.
