Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 just dropped, and along with the new Runners Battle Pass, it brought back one of the most iconic figures in gaming culture: John Wick. But this time, he did not come alone. Epic Games added John Wick’s Dog as an unlockable Sidekick, and players across the board are scrambling to find it.

Where Is John Wick’s Dog in Fortnite?
The dog is at the Sinister Strip POI on the Chapter 7 Season 3 map.
You will find it locked inside a cage, surrounded by guards who are not exactly welcoming. Two guards spawn initially, but the moment you take them down, four more show up. So before you drop anywhere near this spot, make sure you are actually armed and ready. Running in with a grey pistol is not going to cut it here.
How to Rescue and Pet John Wick’s Dog
The process is pretty simple once you know what to do. Here is the step-by-step:
- Land at the southern building in Sinister Strip.
- Grab weapons from inside before you approach the cage area.
- Take out all the guards around the cage.
- Walk up to the cage and press X or Square on controller, or E on PC, to unlock it.
- Press the Interact button again to pet John Wick’s Dog.
Once you pet the dog, it gets added as your Sidekick for all future matches.
A Few Things Worth Knowing
You need the Chapter 7 Season 3 Battle Pass to unlock the dog as a permanent Sidekick. Free-to-play players cannot claim it.
That said, if you arrive late and another player has already freed the dog from its cage, you can still unlock it. Just walk up and pet it. No fighting required.
One more thing: if the guards are already dead when you land, someone either cleared them out recently or the area just reset. Either way, head straight for the cage and interact with it.
Should You Go for It?
If you own the Battle Pass, absolutely. John Wick’s Dog is a genuinely cool cosmetic to carry around in matches, and the rescue mission adds a bit of a fun objective layer to your early-game drop.
