Vice City is getting its own PS5 controllers, and honestly, they look fantastic.
During today’s State of Play, Sony revealed two limited-edition DualSense controllers inspired by Grand Theft Auto VI. One captures the bright, laid-back side of Vice City, while the other goes all-in on the city’s neon-filled nightlife.
Both controllers will be available to pre-order on September 10 and are scheduled to launch alongside GTA 6 on November 19, 2026.
If you’re planning to play GTA 6 on PS5, here’s everything you need to know about the new controllers before pre-orders open.
What Do the GTA 6 DualSense Controllers Look Like?
Sony is releasing two designs: the DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI White Limited Edition and the DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition.
Both versions feature a shimmering finish that shifts between colors, taking inspiration from Vice City’s warm sunsets and bright neon lights. Palm tree details are built directly into the controller shell, giving the design some extra texture rather than simply putting artwork on top.
You’ll also find official Grand Theft Auto VI branding on both controllers.
The biggest difference is the atmosphere each one is going for.

White Edition: Vice City in the Daytime

The White Edition is all about Vice City’s brighter side.
Its design brings to mind white beaches, pastel colors, sunny skies, and the glamorous coastal atmosphere the city has been known for throughout the GTA series.
Sony says the White Edition will be sold globally in limited quantities through direct.playstation.com and select retailers.
Black Edition: Vice City After Dark

The Black Edition takes a completely different approach.
It’s inspired by Vice City’s nightlife, with a darker look that fits the city’s clubs, neon lights, and after-dark atmosphere.
Availability is more limited, too. The Black Edition will be sold through direct.playstation.com in regions where the PlayStation Direct storefront operates, along with select retailers in other markets.
GTA 6 DualSense Price and Release Date
There’s no price difference between the two versions. Both controllers will launch on the same day as GTA 6.

When Do GTA 6 Controller Pre-Orders Start?
Pre-orders for both GTA 6 DualSense controllers open on September 10.
The start time varies by country:
- United States: 7:00 AM PT / 10:00 AM ET
- UK, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg: 10:00 AM local time
- Portugal: Pre-orders will be available through PlayStation’s hardware store instead of direct.playstation.com
If you’re ordering through PlayStation Direct, Sony is also offering free launch-day delivery for eligible pre-orders.
That’s worth keeping in mind because limited-edition DualSense controllers can disappear pretty quickly once pre-orders go live. If you’ve already got your eye on one of these, don’t wait until launch day to make a decision.
What Makes the DualSense a Good Fit for GTA 6?
Of course, the biggest selling point isn’t just the design.
Sony and Rockstar have been highlighting the PS5’s features in GTA 6, and the DualSense plays a major role in that experience.
GTA 6 will make use of the controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, allowing players to feel different actions through the controller and experience varying levels of resistance through the triggers.
That should make things like driving, shooting and other gameplay interactions feel more physical and responsive.
The DualSense is also part of the wider PS5 experience, which includes Tempest 3D AudioTech and the console’s high-speed SSD. Together, these features are helping Sony position the PS5 version of GTA 6 as a showcase for the hardware.
And yes, you’ll get the same gameplay features regardless of whether you choose the White or Black controller.
Final Thoughts
Sony’s two GTA 6 DualSense controllers are a pretty perfect match for the game’s Vice City setting.
The White Edition goes for the bright, tropical side of the city, while the Black Edition embraces the darker neon-filled nightlife. Both designs should look right at home next to a PS5, especially for fans planning to spend plenty of time in GTA 6.
Pre-orders open September 10, with the controllers launching on November 19 alongside Grand Theft Auto VI.
If you want one, it’s probably a good idea to be ready when pre-orders go live rather than hoping they’ll still be sitting on store shelves later.
