The next major update for BGMI is officially on the way and will happen on July 16, 2025. Version 3.9 is bringing with it a new collaboration, new content, and updates to existing modes. There is certainly plenty packed into this content, whether it’s your desire to play in the action or get out and explore new areas.
Now let’s go through everything coming in BGMI’s 3.9 update.
Transformers Make Their Debut
The major feature in the BGMI 3.9 is the Transformers collaboration, which introduces the ability to summon Optimus Prime or Megatron into the match using the Spacebridge Beacon, a new item in the game. The Spacebridge Beacon connects to Cybertron and either summons a Transformer ally into the battlefield or drops Cybertronian-themed loot crates.
Every Transformer has a unique way of fighting. Optimus Prime transforms from a truck into a robot, complete with an axe. Megatron shifts into a tank and attacks with a cannon. These characters are not just a novelty — they have unique talents that can give your team an advantage. However, you will need Energon to activate their abilities, which is found in various places around the map.

When both robots are called in a match, a Nemesis Showdown could possibly occur in the designated duel zone on Erangel, where Megatron and Optimus fight against each other. Because of this unique match aspect, matches can have a different tactical dimension.
Players also get the chance to align with Team Optimus or Team Megatron, participate in unique missions, and unlock themed rewards like character costumes, finish effects, and customized vehicle skins.

Metro Royale Gets a New Threat
The Metro Royale mode has also received an updated experience with the new Zombie Uprising event. In this version of the mode, players will be tasked with waves of enemies that span from basic zombies to high-tier elite bosses. The map also features collectible genetic codes, energy orbs, and even hatchable boss monsters that you can use to help you or battle in the middle of a match.
Loot is getting a refresh as well, and players will be able to discover new items such as golden melee weapons and Portable Experiment Servers, which enhance the survival and exploration tactics.
This would make Metro Royale more in line with the worldwide version of PUBG Mobile, and for a more in-depth experience of the worldwide patch changes, check out PUBG Mobile’s official news page.
Welcome to the Neon Outpost
A new area called Neon Outpost has been added to Erangel, Livik, and Sanhok. These themed zones bring a futuristic feel to classic maps and include interactive spaces such as:
- Boxing Ring – Opens after a short countdown and allows for close-combat showdowns.
- Black Market – Offers limited-edition items, including futuristic consumables like interstellar burgers.
- Astro Den – A melee-focused arena where players can respawn and keep fighting.
These areas are a good change of pace from the usual battle royale format and can be useful for quick loot and short-range practice.
What Else to Expect
Aside from these highlights, the BGMI 3.9 update includes bug fixes, weapon balancing, and tweaks to Ranked Arena. According to developers at Level Infinite, the update is meant to improve overall match flow while introducing experimental content for players to try out.
