The Arc Raiders Headwinds Update 1.13.0 is officially live, and it is easily one of the biggest updates the extraction shooter has received so far. The new patch brings fresh gameplay systems, major quality-of-life improvements, and brand-new progression content that both casual and hardcore players can sink their teeth into.
From powerful Epic Augments to a challenging Solo vs Squads matchmaking option, the update adds depth across the board. There is also a new Trophy Display system, additional quests, and an interesting new map condition that changes how Buried City plays. Here is a full breakdown of what’s included in Arc Raiders Update 1.13.0 and why it matters.
Arc Raiders Patch Notes Update 1.13.0 Explained
The Headwinds Update is a hefty one, and Embark Studios clearly went all in this time. The patch focuses on expanding endgame content, rewarding skilled players, and encouraging more varied playstyles.
One of the biggest highlights is the introduction of two new Epic Augments, which significantly change how players approach looting and survival. On top of that, new matchmaking options now allow solo veterans to test their skills against full squads.
Players can also show off their accomplishments through a brand-new Trophy Display project, adding long-term progression outside of standard runs.
Solo vs Squads Matchmaking
Solo vs Squads is a brand-new matchmaking option designed specifically for experienced players who enjoy intense PvP encounters.
This option is available to Solo Raiders who have reached level 40 or higher. Once unlocked, players will see a “Solo vs Squad” toggle above the matchmaking menu. Turning it on allows solo players to enter squad queues and take on full teams alone.
To balance the difficulty, Embark Studios is offering a +20 percent bonus XP at the end of each round. This bonus applies whether the player successfully extracts or is defeated, making it a high-risk, high-reward mode for confident Raiders.
Trophy Display Long-Term Project
The new Trophy Display system adds a fresh layer of long-term progression to the game.
Players are tasked with hunting increasingly dangerous ARC enemies across the overworld. By submitting ARC parts, Raiders can progress through a five-step project, similar in structure to the Candleberry Project.
Each completed step upgrades a new Display Case, adding unique visual elements that showcase rare ARC kills. The rewards along the way include blueprints and Raider Tokens. Completing the full project unlocks additional bonuses such as a Howl emote, a guitar cosmetic, and a massive 300,000 Coins.
There is no fixed end date for this project, and it will not be affected by Expedition resets, making it a permanent goal for long-term players.
Bird City Map Changes
Buried City has received a notable environmental update in Headwinds.
Flocks of birds have moved into the area and built nests inside abandoned chimneys. These nests may contain shiny trinkets, so players are encouraged to inspect them carefully during runs.
This new map condition, called Bird City, is permanent but will only appear on the Buried City map. It will rotate in and out weekly. The update also adds more bird traps and ziplines, encouraging vertical movement and rooftop combat.
Players should expect more action in and around rooftops, including an increased presence of flying ARC enemies and more player encounters in close proximity.

New Items and Gameplay Features
Update 1.13.0 introduces several new additions that improve both gameplay variety and social features:
- Two new types of Epic Augments
- Seven new quests
- Open Parties option, allowing friends to join seamlessly even mid-session
- Squad Invites, letting squadmates invite others without party leader restrictions
- Stella Montis Seed Vault extract fix
- Gamepad rebinding support
These changes make teaming up easier and improve accessibility for controller players.
New Arc Raiders Epic Augments Explained
The biggest gameplay shake-up in this patch comes from the introduction of Epic Augments. These are powerful upgrades designed to significantly impact how players approach each run.
Update 1.13.0 adds two Epic Augments focused on looting efficiency and survivability.
All New Epic Augments in Update 1.13.0

Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper)
This augment trades weight and utility for increased looting potential. While it limits how much gear you can comfortably carry, it dramatically boosts your ability to secure valuable loot. For players who prioritize resource gathering over combat flexibility, this augment is a game-changer.
Tactical Mk. 3 (Revival)
This augment restores one health every five seconds. However, if you take damage, the healing effect pauses for 30 seconds. It rewards careful positioning and smart disengagements, making it ideal for players who prefer a slower, more tactical playstyle.
Both augments offer strong benefits but require thoughtful trade-offs, adding more depth to loadout decisions.
A Major Step Forward for Arc Raiders
The Headwinds Update marks the first major expansion for Arc Raiders in 2026, and it sets a strong tone for the year ahead. With deeper progression systems, tougher challenges for veteran players, and meaningful quality-of-life improvements, Update 1.13.0 pushes the game forward in a big way.
Whether you are a solo player looking to prove yourself against squads or a collector aiming to fill out the Trophy Display, there is something new here for everyone.
