Assassin's Creed Shadows Title Update 1.0.1 (Hot Fix) What’s New & Should You Care

Season 3 of Warzone started off on a strong note, but it didn’t take long before a couple of issues started popping up that needed immediate attention. On April 7, Raven Software dropped a small update—not the biggest patch ever, but one that definitely matters if you’ve been getting wrecked in close quarters or confused by the number of Buy Stations in Trios.

Let’s just say, if you’ve been getting deleted by dual pistols faster than you could blink… you’re not alone.

Snakeshots Were a Problem—Again

Ah yes, the Snakeshot. If you’ve been around Warzone long enough, you already know this attachment has a bit of a reputation. And not the good kind.

In Season 3, players quickly figured out that when you slap the .500 Snakeshot ammo on the Basilisk pistol—and then throw on Akimbo—you basically end up with two mini shotguns in your hands. And yeah, they were melting people. It was almost unfair. Close-range fights felt like a gamble: if the other guy had Snakeshots, chances were you were toast.

They were just way too strong. Two shots and you’re gone, no time to react. In a fast-paced game like Warzone, that kind of imbalance ruins the flow for everyone. So Raven stepped in and temporarily disabled the Snakeshot ammo. It’s off the table for now while they figure out how to bring it back in a more reasonable form.

Honestly, good call.

The Thermal 6x Scope Had a Huge Flaw

The other big issue in the patch had to do with the Thermal 6x Scope. At first glance, it didn’t seem like a big deal—until players realized that the scope had no glint. That’s a big problem.

If you’ve played sniper in Warzone, you know how important glint is. It’s that shiny reflection that lets other players know someone’s aiming at them from a distance. It gives you a chance to take cover or reposition before eating a headshot.

Without that glint, snipers using the Thermal 6x Scope were basically invisible. No warning, no time to react—just boom, downed out of nowhere. It broke the balance of long-range fights completely.

So Raven removed that scope too, at least until they can fix the bug and add the glint back in. Another solid move, and it should help make long-range gunfights feel fair again.

Buy Stations in Trios Were a Bit Off

On top of the weapon attachment issues, there was also something weird going on with Buy Stations in Trios mode. Usually, the game scales the number of Buy Stations depending on the size of your squad. That makes sense—more people, fewer Buy Stations needed. But in this case, Trios had way too many of them.

It made the pacing of matches feel off. Teams had way more opportunities to buy back teammates or grab killstreaks than they should have. Raven patched that up by adjusting the number of static Buy Stations to better fit the Trios format. A small fix, but one that’ll make matches flow more smoothly now.

Other Tweaks Worth Mentioning

A few more things were tucked into the update too:

Bunker Buster has been re-enabled in Resurgence and Plunder.

They’re working on a fix for some control settings that weren’t behaving right—specifically “Hybrid” and “Slide Only” movement modes.

And for anyone running the T-800 skin, the Endo Titanium Core variant is getting a visibility tweak. Basically, it was a little too hard to see in certain situations, so they’re making it easier to spot.

Here’s the complete patch notes which Activision posted on April 7.

Final Thoughts

This wasn’t a massive overhaul, but it was one of those important “clean up the mess” kind of patches. With the Snakeshots disabled and the glintless scope gone, things should feel a lot more fair now, especially in close-range and sniper fights. And the Buy Station fix in Trios will help matches play out more as they should.

Season 3 is still shaping up to be solid. Let’s hope Raven keeps the momentum going.
