Sony may be revealing new PlayStation 5 Pro in Europe before September 2025 end, if a new leak is true.
The info comes from well-known insider billbil-kun, who has a solid track record for accurate hardware and game leaks. Sony is going to release a new PS5 Pro model, CFI-7121, on September 30, 2025, according to their recent report.
What’s Different About This PS5 Pro?
Don’t expect major design overhauls or flashy new features this time. The update is said to be more about efficiency tweaks than performance boosts. The hardware revision could improve energy efficiency, but the 2TB SSD storage will stay exactly the same. In short – same look, same performance, just a bit more eco-friendly.

Price-wise, the Pro isn’t changing either. The console is expected to hit shelves in Europe for €799.99, the same as the current model. That’s at least a relief considering the base PS5 revision recently got a price bump while also shrinking its storage space.
Why Release a New Pro Now?
Sony hasn’t given any official reasoning (yet), but there are a couple of theories floating around. Some suggest it’s about keeping costs down in Europe amid tariffs and supply chain shifts, while others think it’s to comply with EU energy regulations. Sony has been focusing a lot on power efficiency lately, and this Pro model seems to continue that trend.
There’s also the possibility that this is a quiet step toward the PS6, which leaks suggest will prioritize affordability and low energy usage over raw graphical power.
Will It Launch in the US Too?
For now, the new revision is only rumored for Europe. There’s no confirmation if or when it might land in North America, though past trends suggest it could arrive a bit later.
Should You Wait Before Buying?
If you’re in Europe and thinking about grabbing a Pro, it might be worth holding off just a few more days. Even if the improvements are small, you’d be getting the latest revision without paying more, or losing storage.
As always with leaks, take this with a grain of salt until Sony makes it official. But given billbil-kun’s reliable history, there’s a strong chance we’ll be seeing the PS5 Pro CFI-7121 hit European shelves before the month is over.
