TiMi Studio Group’s Team Jade is reviving the Delta Force franchise in early 2025 as a massively multiplayer first-person shooter (MMO FPS). The game blends elements from across the genre, offering something for everyone. From intense 32 v. 32 battles on sprawling maps to unique, personality-filled operatives with specialized skills, there’s a lot to unpack.

I had the chance to dive into the technical beta back in late November, where eight Global Threat Initiative operatives were up for grabs. These characters fall into four core roles—Assault, Support, Engineer, and Recon. Each operator brings their own tools, buffs, and firepower to the table.

In this guide, I’ll break down each operator’s abilities, focusing on their impact in Warfare mode, the 32 v. 32 PvP battles. (Heads up: these same skills also work in Operations mode, Delta Force’s take on extraction shooters.)

Assault operatives are your frontline soldiers. They’re designed to deal damage and secure victories. If you enjoy an aggressive, action-packed playstyle, these are your go-to picks.

Kia “D-Wolf” Silva

D-Wolf thrives in close combat. His Motorized Exoskeleton boosts sprint speed, allowing him to charge enemies. If he collides with an opponent, it heals him and extends the Exoskeleton’s duration. (Think of the Vanguard class from Mass Effect.)

D-Wolf’s gear includes the Triple Blaster, an anti-vehicle grenade launcher perfect for taking out enemy armor. He starts with Tactical Smoke Grenades for cover and can perform a Tactical Slide to stay on the move.

If you like charging into the fray and dominating with raw aggression, D-Wolf is your guy.

Wang “Vyron” Yuhao

Vyron specializes in sneaking into places he shouldn’t be. His QLL32 Crouching Tiger fires compressed air, knocking down enemies instantly. Paired with Dynamic Propulsion, a short dash, he’s highly mobile.

He carries a Magnetic Bomb, a sticky explosive great for setting traps or stopping pursuers. His passive, Dynamic Auxiliary System, boosts his speed after using gadgets or falling from heights.

Vyron’s strength lies in close quarters and creative play. If you like outmaneuvering enemies, he’s a perfect choice.

Support operatives bring utility and healing to your team. In a game like Delta Force, where death comes fast, having support characters in your squad is crucial.

Roy “Stinger” Smee

Stinger’s Hive-Tech Pistol heals allies over time and locks onto targets when aiming, letting him stay behind cover. His Hive-Tech Smoke Grenades create a healing cloud when shot with the pistol.

His passive, Expertly Rescue, restores more HP to revived allies and removes penalties for multiple knockdowns. Stinger’s Smokescreen UAV adds flexibility, creating cover that can shield allies during a push.

If you want to keep your team alive while staying out of harm’s way, Stinger is your best bet.

Zoya “Toxik” Pomchenkova

Toxik focuses on buffs and debuffs. Her Dragonfly Swarm System boosts allies’ damage resistance while debuffing enemies’ HP, hearing, and vision. Her Adreno-Boost UAV improves allies’ gun handling and reduces flinch from enemy fire.

She carries Blinding Gas Grenades that disorient enemies caught in the cloud. Her passive, Swift Healing, speeds up auto-healing in Warfare mode or reduces item usage time in Operations mode.

Toxik balances offense and support. If you like controlling the battlefield, she’s a solid pick.

Delta Force Engineer Operatives: Heavy Hitters

Engineers are the demolitions experts of Delta Force. They bring high-powered weapons and gadgets that dominate vehicles and fortified positions.

Terry “Shepherd” Musa

Shepherd excels in area denial. His Sonic Paralysis drone debuffs enemies within 30 meters, slowing fire rates, disabling gadgets, and countering recon abilities.

He also uses Sonic Traps, area-effect mines that slow and damage enemies. His GE2 Frag Grenades clean up groups, and his passive, Sonic Defense, reduces splash damage.

Shepherd shines when defending objectives or halting enemy advances.

David “Uluru” Fletcher

Uluru is a tanky engineer with his Battle Hardened trait, reducing damage and movement penalties from heavy gear. His Quickset Cover deploys barricades for cover.

His Loitering Munition launches cluster bombs, while his Composite Incendiary Grenade counters even his own barricades. Uluru’s versatility makes him a great choice for offense or defense.

Delta Force Recon Operatives: Eyes on the Enemy

Recon operatives gather intelligence and pick off enemies from a distance. If you enjoy sniping or outsmarting opponents, this is your role.

Luna Kim

Luna wields a distinctive longbow as her weapon of choice. Her Detection Arrow reveals hidden enemies, effectively countering smoke and other forms of cover. Meanwhile, her Volt Arrow delivers sustained electric damage, making it particularly devastating against vehicles and electronic systems.

Her passive, Enemy Analysis, marks damaged enemies for your squad. She also carries GE2 Frag Grenades for extra firepower. Luna is best for spotting threats and disrupting enemy movements.

Mai “Hackclaw” Xiaowen

Hackclaw is a stealth specialist. Her passive, Silent Step, reduces noise and boosts speed while crouching or in stealth. Her Data Knife disables electronics and deals heavy damage to enemies.

She uses Signal Decoder to track up to three nearby enemies and a Flash Drone to blind and stun opponents. If you enjoy sneaky playstyles, Hackclaw is a must-try.

Final Thoughts

Each operator in Delta Force brings something unique to the table. Whether you prefer leading the charge, supporting your team, or taking out enemies from afar, there’s a role for you.

Prepare to pick your favorites and master their abilities before Delta Force’s launch in early 2025. It’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting FPS games of the year.
