Cloudflare has confirmed a significant server issue that has knocked out substantial portions of the internet.
Immediate Impact on Social Media and Websites
Following the outage, several social media platforms including X (formerly Twitter) along with websites like Downdetector and even some video games, have become inaccessible. Many affected websites are displaying an internal server error code and directing users to Cloudflare for additional information.
- Downdetector, which tracks outages, reported a “‘Please unblock challenges.cloudflare.com to proceed’ error message.”
- Tweets on X were reportedly failing to load for many users.

Cloudflare’s Response and Resolution
The web infrastructure company, Cloudflare, issued an initial statement saying it was “aware of, and investigating an issue which potentially impacts multiple customers.”
In a subsequent status update, Cloudflare confirmed it had identified the root cause and implemented a fix.
“We have made changes that have allowed Cloudflare Access and WARP to recover,” Cloudflare stated. “Error levels for Access and WARP users have returned to pre-incident rates.”
Context of Recent Outages
This Cloudflare disruption occurs only a month after an Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage caused widespread issues, taking down a number of key websites, social media networks, work platforms, and video games.
