Sony is not playing it safe this summer. The PlayStation State of Play for June 2026 is happening today, June 2, and it is shaping up to be one of the biggest gaming showcases in years. A confirmed 60-plus-minute runtime, a Marvel’s Wolverine reveal, and live theater screenings are all part of the lineup. Theater screenings. For a gaming showcase. That alone should tell you something.
When Does It Start?
The show goes live at 2:00 PM PT / 5:00 PM ET on Tuesday, June 2. UK viewers can tune in at 11:00 PM CEST. If you are in India, it starts around 2:30 AM IST on June 3. Japan gets it at 6:00 AM JST on June 3.

Where to Watch
PlayStation will stream the State of Play on its official YouTube channel and Twitch channel at the same time. Twitch tends to run a second or two ahead, which matters when everyone online is reacting together. PlayStation’s YouTube stream will also include a Japanese subtitles version.
They Are Putting This in Movie Theaters
Sony has teamed up with Alamo Drafthouse Cinema to screen the State of Play live at select theaters across the United States. This is the first time PlayStation has ever brought a State of Play to movie theaters. That decision reflects a lot of confidence about what is inside the show.
How Long Will It Run?
Sony confirmed the showcase will run for over 60 minutes, with estimates landing around 70 minutes. If the rumors about what is coming are accurate, it could push longer.
Wolverine Is Leading the Night
The only officially confirmed game is Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac Games. The studio is expected to show off Logan’s combat system and share new game details ahead of the confirmed September 15, 2026 release date.
This is Insomniac’s first major release since Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in 2023. Pre-orders are widely expected to open during or shortly after the broadcast.
What Else Could Show Up?
This is where things get very interesting.
Reliable PlayStation insider NateTheHate2 has reported that a new God of War project is in development, starring Faye. It is reportedly leaning toward faster, more action-focused gameplay compared to the heavier Norse saga. Another leaker independently backed this up and called it “Faye of War.”
Phantom Blade Zero is also a strong candidate, with its September 2026 launch window closing in fast. Additional rumors point to Intergalactic, Control Resonant, and a possible Final Fantasy update. Naughty Dog is expected to show something. Capcom has historically appeared at these events too, possibly with Monster Hunter Wilds expansion news.
There is a lot on the table tonight.
The Last State of Play Already Set a High Bar
Sony’s February 2026 State of Play ran for over 60 minutes and revealed God of War: Sons of Sparta, Kena: Scars of Kosmora, 007 First Light, and several other titles. That was a packed show. This one is being built up as even bigger.
