GTA 6 pre-orders may be just days away, and it’s because Best Buy apparently couldn’t keep a secret. Multiple Best Buy affiliates have reportedly received a promotional email referencing a “GTA 6 Pre Order (Physical Game)” campaign with a window running from May 18 to May 21, 2026. The email lists a 5% commission rate for affiliate partners, which is standard for physical game sales on the platform.
YouTuber Frogboyx1Gaming was the first to surface it, going live on stream to show the email directly. Shortly after, other creators and deal-tracking accounts across Reddit and X claimed they had received the same message. Insider Gaming later reported verifying the emails as legitimate Best Buy affiliate communications, which is the closest thing to confirmation we have right now.
Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have said nothing officially.

What the Email Actually Tells Us
The May 18–21 window is the affiliate promotional period, not necessarily the hard start date for pre-orders. It’s possible pre-orders open earlier and Best Buy just locked in the affiliate commission window for that stretch. Either way, if the email is real and accurate, GTA 6 pre-orders are coming within the next few days.
What the email does not include is a price. That’s been the bigger unknown. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has said publicly that GTA 6 pricing will land within the current AAA range of $70 to $80, which cooled months of speculation about a $100 launch price. Pre-order pages going live would likely be the moment that number gets confirmed officially.
The Trailer 3 Connection
Here’s where it gets interesting. Take-Two has an earnings call scheduled for May 21, the same day the Best Buy affiliate window closes. Historically, Rockstar drops a trailer before major investor events to keep hype and stock momentum going. Trailer 2 crossed 160 million views on YouTube, so there’s every reason for them to time a third one around this window.
On top of that, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Rockstar’s website database went offline briefly on May 11. That kind of backend activity sometimes precedes a new page or media push.
None of this is confirmed. But the timing lines up in a way that’s hard to ignore.

Take-Two Stock Already Reacted
Investors aren’t waiting around either. Take-Two Interactive shares jumped 5.8% in premarket trading on May 14 as the pre-order rumors spread. With GTA 6 locked in for November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, analysts see the pre-order announcement as the first major commercial milestone before launch.
Should You Be Excited?
Cautiously, yes. The emails look real, multiple people received them, and the timing fits what Take-Two has been hinting at for months. The only real risk here is that this is a Best Buy system error or a placeholder campaign that went out too early.
But if pre-orders do open Monday, expect a price reveal, likely a new trailer, and the loudest GTA 6 news cycle since the first trailer dropped. Keep GamerUrge bookmarked, we’ll update this as soon as anything goes official.
