Black Ops 6 Prop Hunt Why Players Are Calling for Major Changes

Black Ops 6 has had a rocky start. From rampant cheating in Ranked Play to “pay-to-win” weapons dominating multiplayer, the game has faced heavy criticism. Even the addition of the fan-favorite Prop Hunt mode hasn’t been the silver lining players hoped for. Instead, it’s stirred up fresh complaints.

As a long-time fan of Call of Duty and Prop Hunt, I was excited about its return. But after spending hours in the new mode, I can’t help but agree with the growing discontent in the community.

Why Hunters Feel Too Powerful in Prop Hunt

One of the biggest issues players, including myself, have noticed is the overwhelming advantage Hunters have. Reddit user _Jaffamuncher sparked a heated discussion by calling out the mode’s imbalance. Their main gripe? Hunters can spray unlimited ammo with “zero penalty.”

This means there’s no real downside to mindlessly shooting at everything in sight. It takes away the strategic element and makes being a Prop far less enjoyable. The new Flash mechanic, designed to help Props evade detection, also feels underwhelming. In my experience, it barely makes a difference in high-pressure situations.

Should Black Ops 6 Take Notes from Garry’s Mod?

Many players have suggested adopting mechanics from the classic Prop Hunt in Garry’s Mod. For those unfamiliar, Garry’s Mod penalized Hunters for shooting random objects. If you shot something that wasn’t a Prop, you took damage. Run out of ammo, and you were left with a weaker Crowbar.

While some argue that damage penalties might not fit Call of Duty’s fast-paced style, limiting ammo seems like a fair compromise. It would force Hunters to think twice before firing at everything.

I saw one Reddit post sum it up perfectly: “Limited ammo is the way to go. Don’t punish players with death, but make them more strategic.” I couldn’t agree more. Running out of bullets and resorting to melee weapons could even add a layer of humor and challenge to the mode.

The Future of Prop Hunt in Black Ops 6

Call of Duty has always given Hunters unlimited ammo and no penalties in Prop Hunt. But it’s 2024. Players expect more balance in their games. I believe a small tweak, like introducing ammo limits, could go a long way in making this mode more enjoyable for everyone.

It remains to be seen if Activision will listen to player feedback this time. Season 1 Reloaded might bring changes, but Prop Hunt needs serious adjustments if it’s going to win back fans.

What do you think? Is Prop Hunt’s current design fine as it is, or does it need a major overhaul? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
